Coach Sullivan announces 2018 men's soccer schedule

FULTON, Miss. – After earning a share of the MACJC North Division championship last season, Coach Mike Sullivan has announced the Indians' schedule for the upcoming 2018 season.

The 18-game slate proves to be another challenging one as the Indians will take on four teams that advanced to the postseason last season, including opening the regular season against the defending MACJC and NJCAA Region 23 champion Pearl River on August 22.

The Indians will open their season with a friendly at Bethel University (Tenn.) and will host Southwest Mississippi for their home opener. They will host MUW before opening MACJC North Division play at East Central.

ICC will host back-to-back division matches against Hinds and Northwest before wrapping up the first half of division play against Holmes Freedom Ridge Park in Ridgeland. October will feature four-straight division matches when the Indians host East Central before hitting the road against Hinds and Northwest. ICC will wrap up division play in Fulton against Holmes.

Other non-division matches include: a home-and-away series with Andrew College (Ga.), Jones County, Meridian and a return trip from Bethel. ICC will wrap up the regular season against Pearl River. Select matches will be available on LetsGoICCTV.com/RED throughout the season.

The opening round of the MACJC playoffs is scheduled for October 18 with the No. 2 seeds hosting the No. 3 seeds for the right to advance to the semifinals on October 20. The host site for the 2018 MACJC Soccer Tournament will be the South Division's regular season women's champion. The championship game is set for October 21.

There is a new and interesting twist to the 2018 playoffs. If LSU-Eunice qualifies for postseason play, there will be a NJCAA Region 23 Tournament hosted by the MACJC Tournament champion on October 27-28. The tournament runner-up will face LSU-Eunice in the semifinals with the tournament champion getting a bye into the championship match. If LSU-Eunice fails to qualify for the postseason, there will not be a region tournament and the MACJC Tournament champion will be the NJCAA Region 23 champion.
