Indians run out of gas at Pearl River

POPLARVILLE, Miss. - Playing a large majority of the match down a man, ICC saw Pearl River take advantage in the second half to pull away for a 3-0 victory Saturday.

The Indians (0-2) were two better bounces off the cross bar away from taking a quick 2-0 lead in the first half. Instead, a pair of unlucky strikes and an outstanding save by the Wildcats kept the game 0-0 inside the 15 minute mark. A red card issued against the Indians a few seconds later forced the ICC to play the remaining 75 minutes with only 10 players on the pitch.

Despite the disadvantage, the Indians were able take a 0-0 tie into the break.

Pearl River (2-0) was finally able to wear down a resilient group of Indians to score the first goal of the match in the 56th minute. The Indians failed to clear the ball cleanly out of the box and the Wildcats grabbed a 2-0 lead in the 58th minute before picking up the 3-0 victory.

The Indians will be back in action Tuesday when they host Meridian. The match will be available on LetsGoICCTV.com/RED - weather pending.
