Strong first half propels Indians to 4-2 win over Holmes

FULTON, MS – Three unanswered first half goals led the Itawamba Community College men's soccer team to a 4-2 victory over Holmes Community College Tuesday.
The Indians (8-7, 3-4 MACJC North) scored the first two goals of the match off the foot of sophomore midfielder Josh Bartlett (Chelsea, AL) and both goals came within two minutes of each other.
Bartlett's first goal came at the 27th minute off an assist from Sam Dexter (Tupelo) and his second at the 29th minute off an assist from Luis Garcia (Olive Branch).
At the 43rd minute, Colby Bogle (Tupelo) extend the Indians lead to 3-0 off an assist from Michael Kiser (Olive Branch).
Holmes scored three minutes into the second half, but the Indians answered at the 60th minute on an unassisted goal by Dexter.
Five minutes later, Holmes scored the matches final goal and the Indians cruised to the 4-2 victory on Sophomore Day.
The Indians win keeps them in the playoff hunt and they will travel to Senatobia Friday for a winner take all match to wrap up the regular season against Northwest Mississippi Community College.
