FULTON, MS – An excellent defensive performance by the Itawamba Community College men's soccer squad led them to a 3-0 victory over Jones County Junior College Wednesday.
The Indians (6-2, 2-2 MACJC North) held the Bobcats to only two shots on net, two shots that sophomore keeper Thomas Blake (Fulton) was able to save on his way to a shutout.
On the offensive side, the Indians drew first blood at the 29th minute when Christian Rojas (New Albany) beat the keeper on an assist from Boston Hampton (Tupelo).
Early in the second half, the Indians picked up some insurance on an unassisted goal by Cameron O'Daniel (Tupelo) at the 47th minute and put the icing on the cake at the 64 th minute on a Logan Little (Tupelo) goal.
Next up for the Indians is a non-conference match on against Oxford College at Amory University Saturday in Fulton.
