FULTON, MS – After only two home matches this season, the Itawamba Community College men's soccer program opened the home part of their schedule Saturday against Southwest Community College. In an almost flawless performance, the Indians came up just short dropping a 2-1 decision to the Bears.
The Indians (5-5, 2-2 MACJC North) fell behind early as the Bears found the back of the net in the first minute and them trailed 2-0 at halftime after a goal at the 40th minute.
After halftime, the Indians came out with some added intensity and Cameron O'Daniel (Tupelo) cut the lead in half on an assist from Josh Barlett (Chelsea, AL) at the 57th minute.
The Indians fired several shots on the net in the final 20 minutes of play, but were unable to find the back of the net, falling 2-1.
Next for the Indians is another non-division match on Wednesday as they host Jones County Junior College at 4:00 pm
