POPLARVILLE, MS – In its final road game of the weekend, the Itawamba Community College men's soccer team was able to find its offensive rhythm with goals from four different players in its 5-2 win over defending MACJC champion Pearl River on Saturday.
Trailing 1-0, the first goal came in the 31st minute when Chase Huddleston (Tupelo) sent home a header off a cross from Luis Garcia (Olive Branch). The Indians (1-1-0) took the lead when Huddleston found Boston Hampton (Tupelo) for an easy goal in the 42nd minute.
ICC had three shots on goal in the second half and cashed in one each one of them.
Huddleston picked up his second assist of the match when he found Michael Kiser (Olive Branch) in the 55th minute. Fancy footwork helped Logan Little (Tupelo) beat the keeper for a goal before Kiser would net his second goal of the afternoon in the 81st minute off a feed from John Gonzalez (Pontotoc).
The Indians will return home on Tuesday to face Copiah-Lincoln Community College at 4:00 p.m. with the Lady Indians scheduled to open the afternoon at 2:00 p.m. The matches will be available on LetsGoICCTV.com pending weather conditions.
