Dylan Howard (Starkville) scored two goals against Northwest to lead the Indians to a 2-0 North Division win.
In their first meeting this season, the Indians (11-1, 3-1) dominated 5-1 in Fulton. With this game being in Senatobia, the Indians knew they would have a tougher match as it is always harder to win division on the road. However, it only took ten minutes before they found the back of the net.
Good ball movement by Alx Little (Tupelo) and Anthony Fernandez (New Albany) led to Howards first goal at the 10:12 mark in the first half. Howard scored off a pass on the left side and the Indians were up 1-0.
Despite the Indians getting off 10-shots in the first half, they only led the Rangers (5-7, 1-4) by one goal. The Rangers had four scoring chances in the first half, but Ben Schaefer (Tupelo) and the Indian defense kept the ball out of the net.
The Indians held their 1-0 lead until Howard struck again 24 minutes into the second half. Howard beat the keeper off a pass from Kit Huddleston (Tupelo) for his seventh goal of the season. The Indians finished the game with 9 shots on goal and 21 total shots as they earned their sixth consecutive win.
