Four first half goals propel the Indians to their fifth consecutive win as they defeated Bethel, 4-1.
It didn't take the Indians (10-1, 2-1) long to take the lead against Bethel as Blake Lashlee (Olive Branch) accepted a pass from Ricky Hackler (Columbus) and fired the ball into the net. Leading 1-0, the Indians immediately began looking for opportunities to extend it.
Dylan Howard (Starkville) found the back of the net off a pass from Alx Little (Tupelo) to extend the Indians lead to 2-0. However, the Indians were not finished as Hackler drove one home for the third unanswered goal of the half.
As the first half began to wind down, Anthony Fernandez (New Albany) scored his 16th goal of the season to extend the Indians lead to 4-0.
Bethel did avoid getting shut out as they got one past the keeper before halftime. The second half was all defense and saves. Ben Schaefer (Tupelo) picked up three saves and John Nabors (Tupelo) had one. Evan Thomas (Amory) picked up an assist one the day along with Hackler and Little.
The Indians will get back into North Division play on Tuesday when they travel to Senatobia to take on the Northwest Rangers.
