MERIDIAN, MS - ICC becomes only unbeaten men's team remaining in the state with 4-2 road win over Meridian.
The Indians (3-0) had a challenging match due to Meridian's low pressure style of play. This style of play made things difficult for the Indians at first, but once they found the holes in the defense, they took advantage. Jerry Malli (Tupelo) started off the scoring in the game off an assist by Dylan Howard (Starkville). It wasn't long before ICC extended its lead off the foot of Brayden Timmons (Pontotoc).
Leading 2-0, the Indians continued to fit holes in Meridian's defense which led to goals by Kit Huddleston (Tupelo) and Ricky Hackler (Columbus). Howard and Hackler picked up two assist each in the first half. After four unanswered goals, ICC had a comfortable lead, but Meridian stuck to their game plan and scored two goals before the break.
Meridian would spend the entire second half trying to find two goals to tie things up, but the Indians were able to hold on for the 4-2 win.
