FULTON, MS - A Hat Trick by Anthony Fernandez (New Albany) led ICC past Northwest and their first North Division win by the score of 5-1.
Fernandez, who scored six goals in his last game, scored quickly off a rebound at the 7th minute to give the Indians (5-0, 1-0) an early lead. Kit Huddleston (Tupelo) extended the Indians lead 15-minutes into the match with an unassisted goal in the lower right corner, and 3-miuntes later Fernandez struck again with a fast break score.
With halftime approaching, ICC added to their lead off the foot of Evan Thomas (Amory) as he beat his defender and put it in the back of the net.
The Indians held a 4-0 lead at the break, but Northwest scored on a penalty kick early in the second half. Fernandez would get that goal back for ICC as he scored his third and final goal of the match to give the Indians the 5-1 win.
Dylan Howard (Starkville) picked up both assist in the win for the Indians.
