Philadelphia, Miss. – Itawamba Community College golf is in ninth place after shooting 34 over (322) in the opening round of MACCC Event 5 at Dancing Rabbit.
The Indians are two strokes ahead of Jones College and only four strokes behind Copiah-Lincoln Community College.
Ross Reeder (Tupelo) posted the Indians' lowest round shooting three over (75) and is tied for 13th.
Corbin Andrada (Olive Branch) is tied for 28th as he shot seven over (79).
Jake Ware (Oxford) shot 11 over (83) and is tied for 43rd, and Trace Sonnier (Vancleave) is tied for 46th after shooting 13 over (85).
Blaine Sanders (Nashville, Tenn.) is only one stroke behind Sonnier as he shot 14 over (86) and is tied for 48th.
The Indians look to climb up the leader board Tuesday in the final round as only 10 shots separate them from a top five finish. Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College leads the event after shooting eight under (280).
