Indians in second place after first round of MACCC Event 2

Natchez, Miss. - After a third place finish to start the year at MACCC Event 1, the Itawamba Community College golf program picked up where they left off finishing the first round of MACCC Event 2 in second place.

The Indians battled the windy day at Beau Pre Country Club to shoot 306 (+18) and are only eight stroke back on the lead held by Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Leading the way for the Indians on day one was Ross Reeder (Tupelo). Reeder shot one over (73) and is tied for second place overall.

Not far behind is Jake Ware (Oxford) who is tied for sixth overall after shooting three over (75) in his first tournament of the year.

Trace Sonnier (Vancleave) and Rhett Gullett (Olive Branch) are tied for 22nd as they both finished seven over with a 79.

Blaine Sanders (Nashville, Tenn.) rounds out the Indians opening day and is tied for 59th after shooting a 97 (+25).

The Indians will tee off Friday morning as they chase their best finish so far this season.
