Indians in fourth place after opening round of MACCC Event 1

Corinth, Miss. – Itawamba Community College's golf program opened the fall portion of its 2022-23 schedule Monday at MACCC Event 1/Northeast Invitational.

The Indians shot a 303 (+15) in the opening round and are and are in fourth place. Meridian leads with a 284 (-4), followed by Gulf Coast in second with a 286 (-2) and Hinds in the third with a 296 (+8). The Indians hold a one stroke lead over fifth place East Central.

Trace Sonnier (Vancleave) led the Indians shooting at 74 (+2) and is tied for 12th place.

Corbin Andrada (Olive Branch) and Rhett Gullett (Olive Branch) are tied for 21st as they both finished four over with a 76.

Right behind them and tied for 25th is Ross Reeder (Tupelo) with a 77 (+5).

Blaine Sanders (Nashville, Tenn.) rounds out the Indians opening day and is tied for 33rd after shooting a 79 (+7).

The Indians will tee off Tuesday morning at Shiloh Ridge as they look to move up the leaderboard in the first event of the year.
