Indians in 6th place after opening round of Southwest Invitational

McComb, Miss. – The Itawamba Community College golf team finished the opening round of the Southwest Invitational in sixth place with a team-total of 322 (+34) Monday.

Landry Miller (Florence, Ala.) and Ross Reeder (Tupelo) finished the opening round tied for 17th with a 78 (+6). Trace Sonnier (Vancleave) is tied for 31st with an 81 (+9), followed by Hayden McCostlin (Bruce) with an 85 (+13) that has him tied for 37th.

Rhett Gullett (Olive Branch) is tied for 43rd with an 87 (+15) and Jack Herring (Saltillo) is in 51st with a 91 (+19).

Northeast leads the field with a team-total of 296 (+8) and Northeast's Tate Dickerson leads the field with a 70 (-2).

The Indians will look to improve in the final round Tuesday.
