Indians in 5th place after Day 1 of Gulf Coast Fall Invitational

GULFPORT, Miss. - The Indians recorded a team-total 320 (+32) to finish the opening round of the Gulf Coast Fall Invitational in fifth place on Monday.

Landry Miller (Florence, Ala.) finished the opening day in a seven-way tie for 13th with a 77 (+5). Ross Reeder (Tupelo) closed the opening round tied for 20th with four other players at 78 (+6). Trace Sonnier (Vancleave) closed the opening round with an 80 (+8) to finished in a five-way tie for 28th. Rhett Gullett (Olive Branch) and Braxton Kesler (Saltillo) along five other golfers went to the clubhouse tied for 39th with an 85 (+13).

Host Gulf Coast leads the tournament with a 293 (+3). Gulf Coast's Chase Kaiser and Meridian's Diego Leslie sit atop the leaderboard at 70 (-2).

The Indians will look to make a move up the leaderboard with a strong showing on Tuesday.
