Indians in sixth after opening round of Hinds Invitational

Raymond, Miss. – Coming off a tenth place finish in their first tournament of the year, the Indians looked to improve at the first MACCC event of the year at the Hinds Fall Invitational.

At the end of the first round, the Indians turned in a 316 team total (+28) which was good for sixth place.

Landry Miller (Florence, Ala.) led the Indians shooting a 71 (-1) and was tied for third overall and only three shots out of first.

Trace Sonnier (Vancleave) turned in a 79 (+7) which was tied for 26th overall and Shawn Cox (Little Rock, Ark.) was only two strokes behind Sonnier and was in sole possession of 35th place with an 81 (+9).

Hayden McCostlin (Bruce) and Braxton Kesler (Saltillo) finished just one stroke apart with McCostlin shooting an 85 (+13) and Kesler an 86 (+14). McCostlin was tied for 43rd and Kesler tied for 45th.

The Indians will wrap up the for conference event of the year Sunday morning at Eagle Ridge Golf Club.
