Indians earn 6th place at Hinds Invitational

RAYMOND, Miss. – The Indians slipped back a spot on the final day of the Hinds Invitational to finish in sixth place with a two-day total of 637 (+34) at Eagle Ridge Golf Club.

With the field averaging five to six shots higher than normal, Landry Miller (Florence, Ala.) still managed to earn a Top 10 finish this season at 151 (+7). The freshman shot an opening round 75 (+3) and finished with a 76 (+4) on Sunday.

Luke Dolan (Florence) just missed another Top 10 finish for the Indians after turning in a 152 (+8). The freshman carded a 74 (+2) on Saturday but slipped down the leaderboard with a 78 (+6) on the final round.

Eric Massey (Pisgah) finished tied for 36th after shooting an 81 (+9) to open play and an 84 (+12) to close out the tournament. Braxton Kesler (Saltillo) shot a 170 (+26) to finish tied for 41st while Hayden McCostlin (Bruce) carded 174 (+30) to earn 44th place.

Southwest's Brett Baker earned medalist honors with a 142 (-2) while Gulf Coast took home the tournament victory with a 596 (+20).
