Indians finish 6th in Hinds Fall Invitational

RAYMOND, Miss. – The Indians finished sixth in Hinds Fall Invitational at Eagle Ridge Golf Course in the opening event of the season.

Connor McKelroy (Hernando) finished tied for 10th after carding a two-day total of 152 (+8). The freshman shot a 75 (+3) on the opening day of the tournament and maintained his Top 10 finish with a 77 (+5) on Sunday.

Bubba Davis (Savannah, Tenn.) made the biggest jump up the leaderboard for the Indians. After carding an 81 (+9) to finish tied for 29th on Saturday, the freshman climbed up 10 spots after firing a 75 (+3) to finish tied for 19th with a 156 (+12).

AJ Martin (Pontotoc) also finished in a tie for 29th with a 156 (+12). The freshman turned in an 80 (+8) to earn a tied for 25th and rebounded with a 76 (+4) to finish tied for 19th with Davis. Tres Gammill (Ackerman) fired a 162 (+18) to finish the tournament tied for 29th after carding a 79 (+7) on Saturday and an 83 (+11) on Sunday.

Other tournament scores includes: Cole Hubbell (Oxford) finishing 36th at 168 (+24); Parker Brown (Taylor) coming in at 37th at 169 (+25); Colby Davis (Saltillo) earning the 42 spot at 207 (+63).

The Indians will be back in action on October 4-5 when they host the second conference event of the season at River Birch Golf Club in Amory.
