Indians finish sixth at Gulf Coast Fall Invitational 

GULFPORT, Miss. – The number four ranked ICC golf team improved on their Day 1 score by 15 strokes Tuesday to finish sixth at the Gulf Coast Fall Invitational at Windance Golf Club in Gulfport.

After shooting 314 (+26) on Day 1, the Indians carded a 299 (+11) on Day 2 to and only finished three strokes behind Rend Lake College who finished with a tournament total of 610. Rend Lake led after Day 1 but shot 319 (+31) in Day 2.

John A. Logan College shot a 592 total to edge out Mississippi Gulf Coast Community (593) and Meridian Community College (594) for the tournament win. MGCCC's B team took fourth place with a tournament total of 604.

Brandon Barrett(Tupelo) led the Indians on Day 2 shooting an even par 72 and Garrett Moore(Southaven) followed with a 73 (+1). 

Hunter Lucas(Belmont) carded a 76 (+4), Art Thompson(Columbus) shot a 78 (+6) and Dean Garrett(New Albany) finished with an 81 (+9).

Moore finished the tournament tied for 12th with a two day total of 149 and Barrett wasn't far behind tied for 17th with a 151 total.

Lucas shot 154 for the tournament and finished tied for 29th, while Thompson finished tied for 45th with a 159 and Garrett tied for 53rd with a 162 total.

The tournament was the last of the semester for the Indians, whose next tournament is scheduled for March 18-19 in Meridian.
