Indians tied for eighth after Day 1 at Gulf Coast

GULFPORT, Miss. – The ICC golf team is tied with North Central Missouri for eighth place at the end of the first day of the Gulf Coast Fall Invitational at Windance Golf Club in Gulfport.

ICC finished the day with a total score of 314 (+26). Rend Lake College is leading the field shooting 291 (+3) followed by a tied for second between John A. Logan College and the event host and defending national champion Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College at 292 (+4). Meridian Community College is in fourth place at 299 (+11) with MGCCC's B team in fifth at 301 (+13). Coastal Alabama Community College is in sixth with a 312 (+24) Day 1 total and Mississippi University for Women are in seventh at 313 (+25).

Garrett Moore (Southaven) led the Indians shooting 76 (+4) which is tied for 20th overall. Hunter Lucas (Belmont) carded a 78 (+6), tied for 32nd overall, and Brandon Barrett (Tupelo) is tied for 39th overall after shooting a 79 (+7).

Dean Garrett (New Albany) and Art Thompson (Columbus) both shot 81 (+9) on Day 1 and are tied for 47thoverall.

All golfers will tee off at 8:00 a.m. on the final day of play in Gulfport.
