Indians finish fifth in Meridian Invitational

MERIDIAN, Miss. – The Indians carded a team-total 622 with rounds of 304 and 318 to finish in the fifth spot of the Meridian Invitational, 43 shots behind the event winner Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.

Dylan Darling (Caledonia) shot an opening round 71 (E) before closing with a final round 79 (+9) for a two-day total of 151 (+9) to finish in a four-way tie for 14th with Bailey Threlkeld (East Central), Damien Dhossche (Gulf Coast) and Matthew Scoville (Co-Lin).

Brandon Walker (Vardaman) finished tied with Jacob Hammer (East Central) after turning in 155 (+13) for the tournament. Walker carded a 75 (+4) on the first day of the tournament and finished a rain-soaked day two with an 80 (+9).

Cameron Foster (Southaven) and Garrett Moore (Southaven) finished tied for 27th with a two-day total 160 (+18). Both players finished the opening round with an 81 (+10) before climbing up the leader board with a final round 79 (+8).

Hunter Lucas (Belmont) earned a three-way tie for 31st with Alan Graves (Hinds) and Logan Meadows (Meridian) with a tournament-total 162 (+20). Parker Humber (Caledonia) shot a 164 (+22) to finish 35th. Todd Harrell (Vardaman) finished tied for 36th with Sean Trussell (Hinds) after totaling a 167 (+25) over two days. Brandon Barrett (Tupelo) carded a 169 (+27) to finish 38th while Boone Faulkner (New Albany) finished 44th with a 187 (+45).

ICC will host the fifth MACJC event of the year at Ackia Golf Club in Amory on March 24 and 25.
