Golf tied for third after Day 1 of Co-Lin Invitational

The Indians finished tied for third with host Co-Lin after an opening round 300 (+12) in the Co-Lin Invitational on Saturday.

Hunter Lucas (Belmont) and Brandon Walker (Vardaman) led the way for the Indians after carding a 73 (+1) to finish Day 1 of the tournament tied for ninth.

Cameron Foster (Southaven) went into the clubhouse 15th after turning in a 75 (+3) with Todd Harrell (Vardaman) finishing tied for 25th at 79 (+7). Parker Humber (Caledonia) finished tied for 36th at 83 (+11) with Garrett Moore (Southaven) wrapping things up for the Indians with an 84 (+12) to earn a tie for 39th.

Meridian leads the tournament at 281 (-7) with Gulf Coast two strokes off the lead at 283 (-5). Gulf Coast's Jackson Wedgeworth carded a 65 (-7) to take the Day 1 lead into the clubhouse.
