Golf finishes 9th in Hinds Invitational

RAYMOND, Miss. – The golf team shot a find round 24-over par on Sunday to finish at 42-over par and in 9th place at the Hinds Invitational. Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College won the Invitational at 11-under par.

Brandon Walker (Vardman) finished tied for 25th after shooting 7-over (151) for the two-day tournament at Eagle Ridge. Walker carded an opening-round +3 (75) before firing a +4 (76) on Sunday to slip nine spots in the final individual standings.

Dylan Darling (Caledonia) made the biggest jump of the tournament for the Indians, moving from a tie for 46th on Saturday to a tie for 41st with a +4 (76) on Sunday. Darling carded a +9 (81) to open the tournament.

Cameron Foster (Southaven) shot a final round +5 (77) to finished tied for 33rd. He also turned in a 77 on Saturday. Hunter Lucas (Belmont) finished tied for 41st after posting a +11 (83) on Sunday after opening the tournament with a +2 (74). Garrett Moore (Southaven) finished 55th with a two-day total +23 (167) after shooting +8 (80) and +15 (87).

The Indians' B team finished 11th at +93 (669) for the tournament.

Parker Humber (Caledonia) finished tied for 48th at +19 (163). Kaleb Hayman (Pelahatchie) and Todd Harrell (Vardaman) finished tied for 52nd at +22 (166) while Wade McDowell finished 59th at +30 (174).

ICC will participate in the Co-Lin Invitational on Saturday, September 30 and Sunday, October 1 at Wolf Hollow in Wesson.
