RAYMOND – Sophomore Ty Young helped lead the surge in the final round of the Hinds Fall Invitational at Eagle Ridge Golf Club on Sunday.

Young (Amory) shaved five strokes off his opening-round 85 to card an 80 (+8) on Sunday and jump four places to finish 44th with a 165 (+21) for the Invitational.

Jacob Dixon (Baldwyn) also fired an 80 (+8) on Sunday but slid 14 placed to finish tied for 19th at 152 (+8). Kirk Reeder (Tupelo) stayed steady after carding a 79 (+7) to finish in a four-way tie for 28th at 157 (+13) while Andrew McDonald (Fulton) turned in an 80 (+8) on Sunday to finish tied for 42nd at 163 (+19).

Nicholas Brown showed the biggest improvement of the Invitational.

The freshman from Mooreville jumped six spots and cut eight shots of his opening-round total to card an 81 (+9) and finish in 46th place with a two-day total of 170 (+26).

The Indians combined for a final round 319 (+31) for a two-day total of 637 (+61) to finish in 7th place in the first MACJC Event of the fall season.

ICC will travel to Shiloh Ridge in Corinth on Saturday September, 19 and Sunday, September 20 for the MACJC Fall Preview Event.
