Indians open 2024 with big win at Jackson State

JACKSON, Tenn. – The Indians opened the 2024 season with an impressive 99-45 win at Jackson State.

ICC rushed out to a 13-4 advantage before taking a 55-22 lead at the break. The Indians were able to go deep into the bench in the second half before picking up the big 50-plus point win over the Green Jays.

James Turner (Biloxi) celebrated his birthday by leading the Indians with a career-high 23 points and six assists in the win.

"I was feeling pretty good," said Turner. "I was confident in my teammates and coaching staff with everything we've been working on." [Full Interview]

Dayveun Anderson (Tupleo) and Tycen McDaniels (Columbus, GA) also had career nights in scoring with 17 points each. Anderson added five assists while McDainels grabbed 10 rebounds for his second double-double of the season.

"We were really excited to get back on the floor after such a long layoff," said Pate. "We were really pleased with our effort, intensity and our teamwork."

Marcel Bridges (Brandon) added 11 points and AJ Dent (Thomasville, GA) collected 10 rebounds and scored seven points.

"Overall it was a good game for us," Pate. "James played a really good game and we're excited for him because he's due and has worked extremely hard."

The Indians will be back in action on Thursday when they host Talladega JV at 7:30 p.m. The game will be available on LetsGoICCTV.com/red.
