Robinson’s career night leads No. 17 Indians to win over Gulf Coast

Fulton, Miss. – Sophomore guard Rock Robinson (Pontotoc) helped No. 17 Itawamba Community College men's basketball get back in the win column scoring a career-high 18 points in the 83-71 conference win over Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College Thursday night.

The Indians (17-2, 7-1 MACCC), who dropped their first conference game in overtime Monday night, came out on fire against the Bulldogs hitting seven three pointers and stretching the lead out to as much as 15-points. However, the Bulldogs rallied late in the first half to cut the Indians' lead to 50-45 at halftime.

In the second half, the quick paced, high powered offensive game shifted to a slower pace, but Indians were able to hold and extend their lead to pick up the 83-71 victory.

Robinson led the scoring but also grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds for his second double-double this season.

Jaden Webb (Olive Branch) added 13 points, followed by Josh Lee (Canton) with 12 points.

The Indians currently hold a one game lead in the conference standings, with six games remaining on the schedule.

Next up for the Tribe will be a road test as they travel to Senatobia to face the Northwest Mississippi Community College Rangers with tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
