No. 20 Indians win battle with Hinds

Fulton, Miss. – No. 20 Itawamba Community College men's basketball won its tenth straight game to remain unbeaten in conference play by defeated Hinds Community College, 83-69, behind a career night for Gemari Marshall (Jackson) Monday night.

Marshall scored a career-high 24 points, 17 of which came in the second half, while Rock Robinson (Pontotoc) and Josh Lee (Canton) picked up double-doubles that helped the Indians pick up the victory.

The first half was a back-and-forth affair but Indians (16-1, 6-0 MACCC) were able to take a two point lead, 38-36, into halftime as George Marshall (Jackson) hit a jumper from the right side at the buzzer.

In the second half, the game remained close and the Indians held a slim lead with five minutes left in the contest, before pulling away to pick up the physical 14 point win.

Gemari Marshall's 24 points paced the Indians' offense, while Robinson and Lee added 13 points with Robinson having a team-high 12 rebounds and Lee with 10 rebounds.

Chris Minton (Indianola) rounded out the Indians double digit scoring with 10 points.

The nationally ranked Indians will travel to Meridian Community College Monday at 5:30 p.m. in the Davis Eventer Center, and will be broadcast on LetsGoICCTV.com/red.
