Indians pick up road win over Shawnee

Memphis, Tenn. – In their third game in four days, the Itawamba Community College men's basketball program capped off the busy week with an 85-62 win over Shawnee Community College at Christian Brothers University.

It was a tight battle early in the contest, but a Kolby Horace (Spanish Fort, Ala.) layup halfway through the first half, put the Indians (9-1) out in front. By halftime the extended the slim lead into a 14 point advantage, 42-28.

In the second half, the Indians maintained a double digit advantage on their way to an 85-62 victory.

Horace led the Indians with a career-high 18 points, followed George Marshall (Jackson) with 17 points, and Josh Lee (Canton) with 16 points.

Gemari Marshall (Jackson) added 14 points and Rock Robinson (Pontotoc) followed with 11 points.

The Indians will wrap up the fall portion of the schedule Saturday at Lawson State Community College. Tip-off from Birmingham is scheduled for 2 p.m.
