Indians put the clamps down on Bevill State

FULTON, Miss. The men's basketball team clamped down on the Bevill State Community College Bears on defense in the Indians' 83-66 win on Monday.

George Marshall led the Indians with 23 points. Josh Lee and Kolby Horace each added 13. Chris Minton chipped in 12 while Jaden Webb scored 11 points, grabbed eight rebounds and blocked eight shots.

ICC combined to block a season-high 13 shots.

The Bears (1-2) dug themselves out of a nine-point deficit to take a 28-26 lead with 4:55 left in the first half. The Indians (6-0) closed the half with a 14-6 run to take a 42-32 lead at the break.

The Indians' defense and rebounding prowess set the tone early in the second half. ICC jumped out to a 52-37 advantage before the Bears battled back to make it a nine-point game. The Indians heated up from beyond the arc to take a 75-55 lead with 6:50 left in the game before cruising to the 17-point victory.

The Indians will be back in action when they host East Central at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, at the Davis Event Center. The game will be available on LetsGoICCTV.com/red.
