Indians fall to Gulf Coast

Perkinston, Miss. – Itawamba Community College's men's basketball team held the conference's top scoring team to 27 points below their average Thursday night but were unable to pick up the win on the road at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, falling 61-56.

The Indians (9-6, 3-5 MACCC) pulled within one, 27-26, with a minute left in the first half on an easy bucket from Dashun Berry (Houlka), but the Bulldogs took a 29-27 lead into the break.

With under two minutes left in the contest, the game was tied at 52-52, but once again the Bulldogs were able to regain the lead and pull away to pick up the win.

Bryan Steen (Charleston) had a career night picking up a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds, while Rock Robinson (Pontotoc) tied his career-high with 14 points.

The Indians will return to the Davis Event Center Monday for a conference battle with Northwest Mississippi Community College at 5:30 p.m.
