Hamilton's career night leads Indians by Coahoma

CLARKSDALE, Miss. – Sophomore Walter Hamilton (Potts Camp) had a career night to help the Indians pick up a 59-54 win at Coahoma Community College on Monday.

Hamilton scored 16 points and grabbed 17 rebounds, both career-highs, to record his first collegiate double-double.

"Our efforts on the offensive boards and ability to make several clutch free throws to finish the game was key for us to come away with the win tonight," said Coach Grant Pate.

The Indians (8-3, 2-2 MACCC) made a free throw to take a 57-54 advantage with 29 seconds left in the game. The Tigers (4-7,0-2 MACCC) missed three-straight three point attempts before ICC could grab the rebound with 7.1 seconds to play and put the game on ice with a pair of free throws.

"It was a hard-fought MACCC match-up on the road," said Pate. "Our guys never wavered and got some key stops in the final four minutes of the game."

Sophomores Fred Cleveland, Jr. (Chicago) scored 14 and Tyronn Mosley (Chicago) added 11 points in the win.

The Indians are scheduled to host East Central Community College (4-5, 2-1 MACCC) Thursday at 5:30 p.m. The Warriors picked up a 104-74 win over Hinds Community College (2-9, 1-2 MACCC) on Monday. The game will be available on LetsGoICCTV.com/red.
