Indians fall to Pearl River

Fulton, Miss. – After a month off for the holidays, the Itawamba Community College men's basketball jumped back into action Thursday night against Pearl River Community College but fell 81-54.

The Indians (7-3, 1-2 MACCC) didn't get the start they wanted in the first half as they struggled offensively and trailed 44-18 at halftime. However, the Indians seemed to find their shot in the second half and hung in with the hot shooting Wildcats (8-2, 3-0 MACCC).

In the second half, the Indians would score 36 points to the Wildcats 37, but the first half deficit proved to be too much to overcome.

Fred Cleveland, Jr. (Chicago, Ill.) led the Indians with 14 points, followed by Tyronn Mosley (Chicago, Ill.) with 13 points and Walter Hamilton (Potts Camp) with 10 points.

The Indians will travel to Clarksdale Monday for a conference game against Coahoma Community College scheduled for 6 p.m.
