Indians hold on to defeat Coahoma, 68-61

Fulton, Miss. – After taking an early lead, the Indians held on the entire game to pick up the 68-61 victory over Coahoma Monday night.

The Indians (2-3, 2-3 MACCC North) fell behind 2-0 to start the game but once they took the lead, they never allowed the Tigers (1-4, 1-4 MACCC North) to regain it. However, the game remained close throughout the contest.

At halftime, the Indians held a 37-31 lead and extended it to 11 points, 54-43, with 10:34 left in the game.

Coahoma would rally late, but the Indians were able to hold on to pick up the win.

Sophomore guard Brandon Brown (Memphis, Tenn.) led the Indians by tying his career-high with 26 points, followed by Shermontis Mitchell (Jackson) who svored a career-high with 17 points.

The Indians will hit the toad Thursday night to face Holmes. Tip-off from Goodman is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
