Brown named MACJC Player of the Week

FULTON, Miss. - Freshman guard Brandon Brown has been selected as the MACJC Men's Basketball Player of the Week.

The Memphis, Tenn. native averaged 22 points, 10.5 rebounds, 7 assists and 5.5 steals per game to help the Indians (5-8, 1-2 MACJC North) pick up a pair of wins last week.

In the Indians' 73-61 win over No. 17 ASU-Mid South, Brown turned in his first collegiate double-double by scoring 18 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. He also had five assists, four steals and a blocked shot in the win.

He followed up his impressive performance with another double-double in the Indians' 75-58 road win over Mississippi Delta while setting career-best in scoring with 28 points and rebounds with 11 boards. He was an assist away from a triple-double after dishing out nine assists to go along with six steals to help the Indians pick up their first North Division win of the season.

Brown and the Indians will return to action tonight against the Coahoma Tigers before closing out the week with a road trip to Scooba to take on East Mississippi on Thursday.
