Indians defeat No. 17 ASU Mid-South, 73-61

Fulton, Miss. – Ma'Darius Hobson (Houlka) scored a career-high 33 points to lead the Indians to a 73-61 win over No. 17 Arkansas State University Mid-South Monday night.

The Indians (4-8, 0-2 MACJC North) led by as much as 16, and held a 39-29 lead at the break.

ASU Mid-South rallied and cut the Indians lead to three, 56-53, with around seven minutes left in the game. However, big shots by Rance Champ (Shannon) and Hobson extend the lead back out to 10, 68-58, with two minutes left to play.

Over the final two minutes, the Indians extended their lead to 12 and picked up the 73-61 victory.

Hobson's 33 points led the Indians and Brandon Brown (Memphis, Tenn.) followed with 18 points, while Tyler Smith (Atlanta, Ga.) and Champ finished with 10 points each.

The Indians jump back into North Division play Thursday ngiht when they travel to Moorhead to take on Mississippi Delta with tipoff scheduled for 8 p.m.
