Indians fall in overtime to No. 19 Shelton State

Tuscaloosa, Ala. – ICC took No. 19 Shelton State to the limit Thursday, but came up just short as the Bucs pulled away in overtime to pick up a 74-68 win.

The Indians (1-2) and Bucs exchanged the lead 11 times in the game, but were tied at 29-29 at halftime and 62-62 at the end of regulation. In overtime, Tyler Smith (Atlanta, Ga.) had a big slam to tie the game at 67-67 with 3:02 remaining.

In the final three minutes, Shelton State pulled away to pick up the win.

Travonta Doolittle (Hughes, Ark.) led the Indians in scoring with 18 points, followed by Brandon Brown (Memphis, Tenn.) with 13 points. Smith finished with 11 points and 14 rebounds for his first double-double of the season.

The Indians will stay on the road Monday as they travel to Lynchburg, Tenn. to take on Motlow State at 7:30 p.m.
