Indians fall on the road to Holmes

GOODMAN, Miss. – In a low scoring and tough defensive battle, the Indians fell to Holmes 59-49 Monday night.

The Indians (7-10, 1-5) and Bulldogs exchanged blows in the first half with the game staying tied or within one point for most of the opening half. 

A three-point play by Ma'Darius Hobson (Houlka) gave the Indians the lead,19-16, halfway through the first half and they would finish half holding off a surging Bulldog squad to hold a 30-27 lead at the break.

The second half was a carbon copy of the first half and the Indians pulled with two-points, 41-39 with 10:13 left to play. In the final three minutes, the Bulldogs were able to pull away and pick up the division win.

Hobson led the Indians with 14 points and grabbed 12 boards to pick up his 12th double-double this season.

The Indians will host Northwest Thursday for a North Division showdown at 7:30 p.m.
