Indians fall to No. 21 Shelton State, 71-67

FULTON, Miss. - The Indians dropped a highly-competitive showing against No. 21 Shelton State before falling 71-67 on Monday.

Late in the second half, the Indians cut the lead to one, 63-62, but were held off by the nationally-ranked Bucs. Shelton State shot 48 percent from the floor compared to the Indains' 39.3 percent shooting on the night. ICC went to the line 15 times and made 12 while the Bucs made 16 of 32 attempts from the charity stripe.

Cartisco Brown (Indianola) led the Indians with 14 points, and Ma'Darius Hobson (Houlka) had a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Dontavious Heath paced four Bucs scoring in double figures with 17 points in the win.

Up next for the Indians will be a road trip to Baton Rouge Community College to open Region 23 play.
