Indians battle to 70-62 win over Lawson State

FULTON, Miss. – With 10 players making their collegiate debut, four scored in double figures in the Indians' 70-62 win over Lawson State (Ala.) on Thursday.

The Indians were led by 16 points from Travonta Doolittle. The Hughes, Ark. native added four assists and three rebounds in the win. He shot 55 percent (6-of-11) from the floor, including 60 percent (3-of-5) from three.

Cartisco Brown (Indianola) scored 15 points while grabbing three rebounds and two steals along with dishing out an assist.

Ma'Darius Hobson (Houlka) had a double-double in his collegiate debut. He scored 11 points and grabbed 10 rebounds while handing out a pair of assists. Anfernee Diggins (Greenville) come off the bench to score 10 points and grab 12 rebounds for his first ever collegiate double-double.

Rance Champ (Shannon) also came off the bench to add nine points while Akeem Kirkwood (Weir) had seven points and eight rebounds on the night.

The Indians will host No. 21 Shelton State (Ala.) Monday night at 7:30. The game will be available on LetsGoICCTV.com/red.
