Indians win thriller over Coahoma, 62-59

FULTON, Miss – Freshman Greg Robinson (Biggersville) knocked down a pair of baskets in the final 25 seconds of the game in the Indians 62-59 victory over the Coahoma Community College Tigers on Friday.

Chayton York (Philadelphia) drove the lane and found a wide open Robinson for an easy lay-up to give the Indians (6-5, 1-1 MACJC North) a 58-57 lead with 24.7 seconds left in the game. Coahoma (2-11, 0-3 MACJC North) quickly regained the lead, 59-58, on a floater in the paint by Daquon Morris but the Indians countered when Robinson tipped in his own miss with 8.1 seconds left to play.

Coahoma quickly advanced the ball to midcourt when Tre Jenkins (Tupelo) slapped the ball away from behind and the Tigers fouled Brian Halums (Simmons) in the open floor with 2.4 seconds on clock. Halums knocked down both free throws to put the Indians up by three and the Tigers failed to get a shot off before the clock expired on the contest.

Jenkins scored a team-high 15 and Halums added 10 points in the win for the Indians. Robinson scored a career-high 10 points on the night.
