Indians rally comes up short against Holmes, 68-61

FULTON, Miss. – The Indians rallied from a double-digit deficit but couldn't find a way to hold the lead in their 68-61 loss to open MACJC North Division play against No. 25 Holmes Bulldogs.

Trailing by 10 at halftime, the Indians (5-3, 0-1 MACJC North) took a 52-50 lead on a breakaway dunk by Brian Halums with 8:30 left in the second half. The Bulldogs (7-1, 1-0 MACJC North) answered with a 10-4 run to take a 60-56 lead with 2:56 left in the game before taking care of business from the free throw line to hold on for the 68-61 victory.

Halums finished with a game-high 23 points and 10 rebounds while Trevais Spencer paced the Bulldogs with 15 points.

ICC will step out of division play to take on Southern Shreveport in Region 23 play on Saturday.
