Indians take care of Jones County, 80-66

FULTON, Miss. – The ICC men's basketball team grabbed momentum heading into the Thanksgiving break with an impressive 80-66 win over Jones County Junior College on Thursday.

Tre Jenkins (Tupelo) drained a three to give the Indians (3-2) an 11-10 lead at the 13:25 mark of the first half before battling their way to a 31-27 lead over the Bobcats (2-2) at halftime.

A three-pointer by Eric Brown (Greenville) gave the Indians a 46-36 lead with 13:34 left in the game before suffocating defense and hot shooting by Jenkins and Brian Halums (Simmons) helped push the lead out to 20 points.

The Indians cruised to the 80-66 victory to pick up their second-straight win.

HIGHLIGHTS: Indians take care of Jones County

Halums finished with a game-high 19 points and 9 rebounds. Jenkins added 17 points and three assists while Joshua Greer (Jackson, TN) and Joseph Jones (Tupelo) added 11 points each to round double digit scorers for the Indians.

David McCoy led the Bobcats with 17 points.   

ICC will return to action when they travel to Wallace-Selma on Monday, November 27 in Selma, Alabama.
