BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Indians dropped a heartbreaking, 69-68, loss on last-second shot by Lawson State (AL) Community College Monday night.

ICC (1-1) took a 68-66 lead when Joseph Jones (Tupelo) drew a foul when he dunked on a pair of Cougar defenders and connected on the free throw with 8.9 seconds left in the game.

Lawson State (2-0) rushed the ball across midcourt against the Indians' man-to-man defense and drilled a deep three-pointer with 2.1 seconds left to take a one-point lead. The Indians' final shot from beyond midcourt came up short allowing the Cougars and the students to storm the court to celebrate the victory.
