Indians knock off Wallace-Selma, 73-62

FULTON, Miss. – Strong defense led to easy offense in the closing minutes of the Indians' 73-62 victory over Wallace State Community College-Selma Thursday night.

The Indians (1-0) raced out to a 12-point lead in the early stages of the first half only to see the Patriots (0-1) rally to tie the game at 30-30 by the end of the half. Both teams traded the lead throughout the second half until a steal and emphatic dunk by Ole Miss commit Brian Halums (Simmons) put the Indians up by 8 with less than six minutes left in the game before pulling away for the 12-point victory in the recently renovated Davis Event Center.

Halums finished with a game-high 25 points and 8 rebounds while Tre Jenkins (Tupelo) added 23 points and 6 rebounds in the victory.

ICC will be back in action Monday night at Lawson State Community College (0-0) in Birmingham.
