ELLISVILLE, MS - A hot start by Jones County Junior College helped the Bobcats hand the Indians their first loss of the season, 86-77, on Thursday.

Trailing as much as 18 in the first half, Cody North (Tremont) scored eight-straight points to cut the Bobcats' 10-point halftime lead to 57-55 before Jones County (3-1) answered with an 13-5 run to go up 70-60 with 8 minutes, 32 seconds left in the game.

Quenten Taylor (Edison, GA) pulled the Indians (3-1) within two, 75-73, with less than three minutes left to play but the Bobcats took care of business down the stretch to hand ICC its first loss of the season.

Taylor scored a game-high 29 points while North and Martaveous McKnight (Walls) added 14 points each.

Six different Bobcats scored in double figures.

The Indians will step out of region play and travel to Lawson State Community College (AL) on Saturday.
