McKnight named Top Incoming Freshman by NJCAA

FULTON, MS – Martaveous McKnight (Walls) has been named as one of the top incoming freshman when the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) released its second men's basketball preseason preview on Monday.

"We are excited to have a player like Martaveous on the roster," said Coach Grant Pate. "He brings a lot of different aspects to the game when he is on the floor and we look forward to seeing him continue to develop this season here at ICC."

McKnight (6'3/190/guard) was selected to the Commercial Appeal's Best of the Preps Class AAA Boys team after averaging 24 points and 2.1 rebounds per games during his final season at Lake Cormorant High School.

As a junior, he averaged 22.2 points, 2.7 rebounds, 1.3 steals, and 1.2 blocks per game after stepping into the basketball spotlight by averaging 15 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 2.1 steals an outing as a sophomore.

McKnight and the Indians will open the season on Monday, November 2 against Lawson State Community College (AL) starting at 7:30 p.m. at the Davis Event Center.
