MOORHEAD, Miss. – The final week of the 2014-15 season has been filled with heartbreaking last-second losses for the Itawamba Community College Indians, and Tuesday afternoon's season finale with the Mississippi Delta Community College Trojans wasn't an exception with the Indians falling, 75-74.

The Indians (7-16, 3-9 MACJC North Division) trailed for most of the first half, but a rally led and capped off by a three-pointer by Ron Davis (Edwards), who scored a game and career-high 15 points, gave the Indians their first lead, 26-25, of the game. At the end of the half, the Trojans benefitted from a questionable foul call that sent them to the charity stripe where they hit three free throws to take a 29-28 lead into the break.

The back-and-forth contest became a little one-sided in the second half with the Trojans extending their lead to as much as 12, but the Indians rallied again to pull within three, 73-70, with under a minute remaining on big plays by Lakee Westbrook (Shannon) and Austin Timms (Mooreville).

With 22.1 seconds left on the clock, Westbrook drew a foul and after hitting both free throws, he stole the Trojan inbound pass and nailed a layup to give the Indians a 74-73 lead. On the ensuing possession, the Indians were called for a foul, and the Trojans regained the lead making both from the charity stripe. In an all-too-familiar scenario, the Indians had final possession in the closing seconds. Tyrone Wooten (Memphis, TN) drove the lane getting a shot off with heavy contact, but it was off target. With a questionable no foul call, the Indians picked up the rebound but were unable to convert before the final buzzer and dropped the season finale, marking the end of hard-fought season.

Westbrook scored 14 points for the Indians, followed by Kevis Fleming (Robinsonville) with 10.
