GOODMAN, Miss. – A poor shooting performance doomed the Itawamba Community College Indians Thursday night as they fell 72-55 to Holmes Community College.

The Indians (7-13, 3-6 MACJC North Division) only managed 31.3 percent (20 for 64) from the field while hitting five of 20 from three-point range. Lakee Westbrook (Shannon) was responsible for all five of the Indians' three pointers as he went five for seven behind the arc.

Despite the Indians' offensive struggles, Westbrook scored a game-high 23 points while shooting 70 percent from the floor. The Indians led for most of the first half and were up 17-16 with 5:18 left until halftime. Over the next four minutes, the Bulldogs went on a 10-0 run that propelled them to a 29-20 lead at the break.

The Bulldogs came out hot in the second half led by Daryl Macon, who is currently fifth in the nation averaging 23.6 points per game. Macon scored a team-high 21 for the Bulldogs as they cruised to victory.

The Indians look to rebound from their worst shooting performance of the season Monday night as they host the rival Northeast Tigers. Tipoff is set for 8 p.m. in the Davis Event Center.
