FULTON, MS – Sophomore Tyrone Wooten signed a National Letter of Intent to continue his basketball career for Coach Bob Marlin and the Ragin' Cajuns of the University of Louisiana-Lafayette.

Wooten (Memphis, TN) is averaging a team-high 15.1 points, 5.9 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 2.3 steals per game this season. He is shooting 39 percent from the floor, including hitting on 30 percent of his three-point attempts, and scored a career high 32 points in the Indians' 76-67 win over Snead State Community College (AL) in November.

Wooten averaged 13.4 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game to help lead the Indians to the 2014 MACJC State Championship as a freshman. He connected on 43 percent from the floor, including 37 percent from three-point range.

"We are excited about Tyrone joining our program," Marlin told ragincajuns.com. "He will give us an experienced, athletic wing. He has an excellent motor and can do multiple things with the basketball."

The 6'4 shooting guard has scored in double figures in 25 of his 36 games at ICC.

Wooten and the Indians will return to action on January 6 when they hit the road to take on the defending NJCAA champion Bobcats of Jones County and will travel to Volunteer State (TN) on January 8 before returning to the Davis Event Center on January 12 to reopen MACJC North Division play against Holmes.
