FULTON, MS – Sophomore center Tory Rice (Starkville) of the 2014 Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) Champion Indians basketball team earned MACJC Academic All-State honors after finishing his final season in Fulton with a 3.44 GPA.

"We are extremely proud of Tory and everything he has been able to accomplish in his two years here at ICC," said MACJC Coach of the Year Grant Pate. "He has really grown into a great player, but more importantly he has become an outstanding individual away from the game of basketball. He knows and appreciations the value of a great education and really dedicated himself to the academic side of being a successful student-athlete."

Rice averaged 10 points per game and led the MACJC Champion Indians in rebounds and field goal percentage with 8.1 boards per game while connecting on 56.1 percent of his shots.

"Coach (Adam) Kirk and I strongly believe there are great things ahead of Tory because of his dedication to be the best he can be in all aspects of what a student-athlete is expected to be," said Pate. "We look forward to keeping up with his career and to continue to share in his successes."

The MACJC All-Star selection signed to continue his career with the Choctaws of Mississippi College.
